Though it is among the Top 25 largest cities in America, Charlotte is also widely known as one of the cleanest big cities in America. I can vouch for this…I lived there for a couple years. It is a great North Carolina retirement community for 55+ active adults who wish to be near Charlotte, NC. Peninsula homeowners may join the Peninsula Yacht Club, which includes a state-of-the-art marina with 400 boat slips, fine dining in the Yacht Club dining room and a competition-sized swimming pool and an array of club events, activities and boating classes held on the back veranda.
