Though it is among the Top 25 largest cities in America, Charlotte is also widely known as one of the cleanest big cities in America. I can vouch for this…I lived there for a couple years. Plenty of opportunities to find a retirement community to enjoy, yet still have access to big city conveniences if needed.
Ballentyne Country Club – Though not technically a “retirement community” this is a very nice community on the south side of Charlotte.
Millbridge – Millbridge in historic Waxhaw, North Carolina is a retirement community for 55+ active adults, and is currently being developed by GS Carolina and partners. GS Carolina and its principals, David L Guy and Thomas W Scott, have over forty years experience in real estate development. They have built several 55+ retirement communities in North Carolina and other neighboring states.
Sun City Carolina Lakes – This Del Webb development for retirees of age 55 or over is one of the 64 Sun City active adult retirement communities scattered across the US. Del Webb is experienced in building South Carolina’s 55+ communities with resort-style amenities and a range of housing options.
The Peninsula – The Peninsula in Cornelius, North Carolina is an established country club community. It is a great North Carolina retirement community for 55+ active adults who wish to be near Charlotte, NC. Peninsula homeowners may join the Peninsula Yacht Club, which includes a state-of-the-art marina with 400 boat slips, fine dining in the Yacht Club dining room and a competition-sized swimming pool and an array of club events, activities and boating classes held on the back veranda.
